First f-locked post ever ;-)
Well, actually not, because I don't believe in f-locks.

I just had a perfectly nice and competent person telling me the vignette that I sent her looked like it was still in the conceptual stage. The story was finished. Not exactly one of my most brilliant works, but finished.

Frell!

Which one?

Re: Huh?
One that's still unpublished.

My contribution to the little_bit_foxy challenge, otherwise known as the first annual Doctor Who Kinkathon ;-)

Re: Huh?
Nun ja, nach meiner letzten Geschichte (Fabric that God Weaves, s.u.) hatte ich noch ein bißchen kreative Energie über und dachte "probier mal was anderes"

Multiple orgasms instead of multiple God-mentionings.

Re: Huh?
Hast du je Sex in einer Geschichte behandelt? Das kinky-este, was ich von dir kenne, ich Obi-Wan, der Anakin Kekse bringt. :)

Re: Huh?

Yup, d.h. zumindest in kleineren Dosen... ;-)

Das hier ist aus einer nie fertig gestellten Nip/Tuck Story ..

Shortly after the accident, Clarkson's wife had sent Christian a thank you card to his private address. A well-meant but ill-advised pastell-coloured nightmare with saccharine angels. Thank you, Dr. Troy, for being a guardian angel in this time of need. We will include you in our prayers. Words in a very neat, very traditional women's handwriting. Green ink on lavender paper. He had stared at the whole atrocity for nearly a minute, then torn it and thrown it into the disposal bin under the kitchen sink, wondering if Sean had ever gotten any cards like this for the pro bono crap he was doing. If really so, he'd probably keep them in a wooden cigar box in his bedroom locker, taking them out from time to time and getting a hard-on. No such thing as playing the good Samaritan once in a while.

Strike!

Ah! Meine Weltsicht ist wieder gerade-gerueckt. Das ist nur die ERwaehnung von Sex. Kein echter Sex. :) Ich bin beruhigt. Thought for a moment my world was coming down. :)

Will happily give a second opinion, if that would help?

(Also, have been reading the other comments and cracking up at the way my very limited German skills offer up tempting hints at translation and then leave me lost. I'm now dying to know what 'spassiger Porn' is!)

I just got a quite enthusiastic email from my second beta, so right now it's pretty much of a deadlock situation at the moment.

So your opinion would kind of settle the question whether to re-write or not ;-)

I'll mail you the file in a second.

Happy-go-lucky smut fic ?

As for the confusing German laguage bits; that's exactly the reason why I usually keep everything in English.

All the Germans on my flist have amazing English skills close to native speaker level (one actually happens to live in the UK, another emigrated to Candada)

What part of Canada did your friend emigrate to? Not that it would be anywhere near where I am. Nothing is near where I am. ;-)

As for this person thinking the story wasn't finished ... Writing and reading is so subjective. One person's rough is another's polished and vice versa. Having someone else look it over would be good, but I know the level at which you write so I suspect this is just a preference difference.

Well, her user info says ON. So this would be Ontario, right?

If there ever was such a thing as a great, trans continental LJ gettogether, I'd really love to introduce the two of you to each other ;-)
Karenquiller77 on June 15th, 2006 08:42 pm (UTC)
Right, that would be Ontario. A mere 2500 km away, if you're traveling to the northwest part of the province. (Toronto is about 3200 km from here.)

I can't even imagine the logistics of an LJ get-together, even if you narrowed it down to only writers, or only fans of one fandom. But it would be fun to meet your friend. :-)
