Just Spreading a Writing Meme ;-)
Life on LJ seems rather quiet today. Not that many people around, so I really don't expect anyone to reply. However, I found this (admittedly somewhat shameless) meme much too interesting to ignore it, and would love to see it picked up by one or two of my friendly neighbourhood authors ;-)

Writing meme, spotted at fabu's:

01. Do I have a distinct style of writing?
02. If so, what exactly is it that defines my style?
03. Would you say my stories follow a certain theme?
04. Is there anything you feel I ought to improve or change?
05. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of anyone else?
06. Judging from whatever writing of mine that you've seen, what do you think is/are my strength(s)?
07. What do you think are my weaknesses?

Feel free to pick and choose which ones to answer, if you don't want to answer them all.

Ooh, yay: a meme when I have time to answer it!

1. Yes, definitely! I know I've not read much of your stuff, but you write in a very economical, almost poetic style: much impact concentrated into few words. There's nothing wasteful about it, which I love.
2. Er...I should have read the questions first, huh? See above. :P
3. Not sure I'm familiar enough to know, really. I suppose emotional currents are at the core, always: exploring hidden things, giving us the unspoken without ever being over-explicit about it. I lose at articulacy, sorry.
4. Write more often? Erm. No idea. I'd say 'explore longer stories and more sustained narratives' but a) I don't have time to read long stuff and b) I really like your shorter pieces, so you can ignore that happily.
5. You seem pretty distinctively you, really. Except when you are pretty distinctively Albert Campion.
6. And again - precision of language. Each sentence feels crafted. Love that.
7. I don't think I've read anything heavily dialogue-based, so maybe that's something you don't feel too comfy with. *shrugs* Yeah, I got nuthin'.

That was jolly. You should be shameless more often.

this is fishing for compliment the elaborate way, right?

Well then:

1) Yes, because
2) next to what uktechgirl said (which I sencond) it is really the imagery that you come up with that sticks in mind (cookies, strawberries, tumbleweed: Yes, I like that ones ;-)
3) Relationships, mostly in someway, torn one way or the other, I reckon.
4) How could I dare ;-)
5) hmmm, no.
6)see above
7) you do dent to overreact on criticism *if-I-may-say-so-without-getting-hurt*
